To determine the right size, measure the width of your vanity. The mirror or medicine cabinet should be slightly narrower than the vanity width. Typically, mirrors should be 2–4 inches narrower than the vanity. For medicine cabinets, ensure the width and height fit well above the sink and within the wall space. Standard sizes are 18–24 inches wide and 24-36 inches tall.
Installing a bathroom mirror or medicine cabinet involves measuring and marking the desired location, ensuring it’s level, and securely mounting it. For mirrors, use appropriate wall anchors and screws. For medicine cabinets, mounting brackets are typically used for surface-mounting or you may need to cut a hole in the wall for recessed installation. Always check for electrical wires and plumbing before drilling and cutting.
