We believe in leaving the world a better place than we found it and investing in innovation and programs to deliver on that promise.
From providing health and well-being programs to fostering an engaging workplace, we’re investing in our people and creating a place where every associate can become more at Kohler. Each Kohler associate is encouraged and empowered to volunteer, activate, and innovate for causes that matter to them as we work together to solve the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges. Together, we strive to create experiences that leave our associates and communities with a sense of value, purpose, and belonging every day.
We believe in a safe, welcoming, and human-centered workplace where hate and discrimination have no home—ever. We cultivate an environment where our associates can thrive, grow, and be their best selves. When we engage a wide spectrum of people reflecting all the dimensions of diversity, we tap into our brightest ideas and boldest thinking.
Kohler is committed to having a positive impact on the growth and economic development of the communities where our associates live and work. Since 1990, 18.1 million lives have been impacted globally through product donations, increased access to clean water and sanitation, health and well-being services, environmental conservation, education, and support of the arts.
Innovation for Good (IfG), Kohler’s in-house incubator, enables associates to explore opportunities to develop new products and services that address pressing global, environmental, and social challenges. Launched by the IfG incubator in 2018, associates from across Kohler participate in the annual IfG I-Prize Competition to demonstrate their passion and commitment to solving social and environmental challenges.
We are committed to reducing energy, water, and waste across our operations to mitigate our environmental footprint and to developing products that help our customers live more sustainably.
Without sacrificing design, we are constantly innovating to develop water-efficient plumbing products to aid in the protection of this natural resource. Since 2007, sales of WaterSense®-labeled products from Kohler brands in the U.S. have achieved significant water, carbon emissions, and energy savings:
KOHLER WasteLAB, established in 2014 within Kohler’s Innovation for Good® incubator, continues to scale up operations to repurpose Kohler manufacturing waste streams into beautiful products to advance circularity at Kohler.
KOHLER WasteLAB operations are currently concentrated in Kohler, Wisconsin, and any repurposed waste streams are sourced from our Wisconsin campus operations. We continue to invest in research and innovation to expand the scope of how we recycle and reuse waste material, including waste materials from operations outside of Kohler, Wisconsin.
Kohler was built by creators, inventors, and visionaries. We place value on design, innovation, and craftsmanship, aiming to weave artistry into everything that we do. With a long history of supporting artists and art organizations in our communities, these efforts reflect our passion to contribute to gracious living through the power of art and design.
Kohler aims to bring artistry into everything we do. In partnership with John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Kohler hosts the Arts/Industry program which brings design, artistry, innovation, and craftsmanship together in a collaboration between artists and our associates.
Artist Editions products are inspired by Arts/Industry and came to life in 1983. Products begin with intensive study of design elements and production techniques drawn from influences around the world. From there, artisans handcraft each Artist Editions product using premium materials and meticulous processes to create striking works of functional art for the home.
